Sunday was a gorgeous day and Jess and I arranged to go on a ride with our friends, Pete & Cheryl, who live in the same village.
We left Lingwood, in Norwich, at about 10.00am and headed out towards Hunstanton on the North West Norfolk coast. Pete grew up in Norwich and knows all the good roads, so he took us on a little used road – the B1145.
Apparently, this road was used by the Americans during the war and was widened for their transport. It is a great road for biking with long sweeping bends and not much traffic.
Hunstanton was heaving with the usual holiday makers and bikers, so after a quick ice-cream we set off for Wells-Next-the-Sea where we decided to have fish & chips for lunch alongside the quay.
After lunch we carried on along the coast road towards Cromer where we stopped for a leg streatch and a cup of tea before heading back home via Wroxham.
All in all, a good day out and fine biking weather – if not a little too hot for my liking!
