Jess received a text from Pete & Cheryl on Sunday morning saying that they were up for a ride, so we met at their house at about 12.00pm to discuss where we wanted to go.
We did north Norfolk last time out, so this time we opted to go south west towards Thetford. The advantage of having Pete as a friend is that he knows all the good biking roads in Norfolk!
He didn’t disappoint! We were soon heading down the B1108 towards Watton. This a great road with long sweeping curves and the visibility is superb. We then turned south onto the A1065 towards Barton Mills where we stopped at the picnic area for a bite to eat.
After lunch we decided to take the long way home and turned off the A11 at Thetford onto the A1066, which is another fast sweeping road, and then onto the A143 towards Beccles where we stopped at McDonalds for an ice-cream.
The girls were still keen to continue, so we headed up through Haddiscoe and Great Yarmouth and on to Hemsby where we stopped again for a cold drink.
By now it was getting fairly late so we bade our farewells and headed off home. All in all, a very good day out!
