The Ride Stuff

The adventures of a couple of happy bikers

I’ve just got back from attending a family wedding in Guayaquil, Ecuador.

The (car) driving is very interesting to say the least! The main roads are divided up into lanes but it seems that they are just optional as you usually get four or five cars abreast on a three lane road, all jostling for position and hooting like mad things!

I didn’t see any big motorbikes but smaller ones are plentiful and you often see them 3-up or more. I once saw a family of five people on a little 125cc! I don’t know if helmets are compulsory or not but not everyone wears one. Having seen the standard of driving at first hand, I know that I’d wear one if I lived there!

The chap on the back of the bike below was teaching the chap in front how to ride. Not the safest way of doing it!

Don't scrape the toes, lads!
